I hope your week is going well for you. Yesterday was a great day for me, I got to spend most of it in my Craft Corner and really enjoyed myself. I managed to do something I haven't done in ages...complete a card that fits into two challenges this week! Yay me!

Recipe:

* Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket

* Solid Papers - scrap box

* Strawberry - Cricut's "Sweet Shop" cartridge, cut at 3.5 inches

* "Swiss Dots" embossing folder

* Chocolate portion of strawberry is covered with Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a nice shine

* Ribbon - I used white seam team and died it using Distress Ink in "Barn Door"

* Sentiment - Pink By Design stamp set Say It Sweet

* Gems - Recollections

* I used my sewing machine to add a zig-zag stitch around the mats and to gather my ribbon.

Cards For Trin

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.

I don't have a project to share with you today, but I did want to give you an update on Trinitie. Her parents chose the treatment plan available at the Children's Hospital a few hours away from home. She will be there for about 6 weeks before there is a break in her treatments. In the meantime, she and her family are staying at the Ronald McDonald House there with her Dad going back and forth to work. Treatments are going well at this time and prayers are being answered. You may read more about Trinitie on her facebook page Get Well Trin and her new web page Trinitie's Journery.

I also would like to thank all of my generous crafting friends who have already sent a card for Trinitie. I bought this cute little metal container at Hobby Lobby, used some vinyl for her name and tied on some pretty ribbon on the handles. I added 40 beautiful, creative, sweet cards that have arrived in my mailbox from all over the world....

If all goes well, I will be presenting this to Trinitie's grandmother Wednesday night at church. If you are still working on a card for Trin or if you would like to make a card for Trin, don't worry! She will be having treatments for several more weeks and I would love to have more cards to deliver to her over that time. I'm not sure if you can tell in the photo, but I covered the white portion of the bottle with VersaMark "Dazzle" ink and clear embossing powder. When I hit it with my heat gun, it really gave the bottle a wet, shiny look...like milk in the bottle...

I love making baby cards and I think this one turned out really sweet ♥

Anniversary Amore Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome!

Today, I am happy to be taking part in my friend Candace's Anniversary Amore Blog Hop!

My sweet, talented friend Candace has put together a great Blog Hop today complete with a fabulous line-up of talented crafters to help her celebrate her one year blog anniversary! There are also going to be some great prizes along the way. So, before we get started, if you came to my blog from Erica at My Cricut Craft Room, you are in the right place. If you just stopped by my blog for a visit and would like to start at the beginning of the hop, head over to Candace's place at Scrappin Two Little Princesses. If you should get lost along the way, I will have the complete line-up at the end of this post.

Now...onto my project. I tend to keep every little note, every drawing from my grands, ticket stubs and small mementos of everyday life. I find myself sticking them in drawers, pockets, the bottom of my purse and all over the place. I really love these little tokens and the memories they hold for me, so I decided to make a special "home" for all my little souvenirs of everyday life....

Recipe:

* I started with a plain, paper-mache, heart shaped box that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I didn't have a shade of paint that I really liked, so I mixed a couple that I had on hand - Linen and Baby Pink, both by Folkart. I painted the entire box with my mixed paint. Letting it dry completely between coats, I used 3 coats of paint...

* Next, I hand cut banners using 6 different patterned papers. I used paper from the Flea Market paper stack by Colorbok and the Valentine Sweetheart paper stack by K&Company. After cutting each banner, I inked up the edges using Versafine Ink in Vintage Sepia. After inking up the edges, I adhered my banners all the way around the bottom portion of the box, leaving a small space between each banner....

* Now, it's time to start on the lid! I traced the heart shaped lid onto my patterned paper and cut out the heart about a half inch smaller than my traced line. Then I distressed and inked up the edges and adhered it to the lid.

* Using the Cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy, I made 3 roses from pink cardstock. I cut two roses at 5 inches and one rose at 6 inches using the image found on page 68. I inked up the roses with Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick, assembled them and gave them a sprinkle of coarse glitter.

* The leaves are also from Art Philosophy. I used the image found on page 43 at 3.5 inches. I cut it out twice on my patterned paper and twice on green cardstock, then glued the printed image to the solid cardstock for more stability. The edges were all inked up with the Vintage Sepia ink and sprinkled with more coarse glitter.

* I also hand cut a banner for my sentiment. Using the Vintage Sepia, I stamped my sentiment from the beautiful stamp set Enjoy The Journey by Pink By Design.

* Now it's time to put the top of the box together. I used my hot glue gun to layer first the leaves, then some off-white tulle. I tucked my sentiment banner under the leaves and glued on the roses. The final touch was a couple of beautiful stick pins by Close To My Heart...

* I covered the rim of the lid with some beautiful, dark brown, velvet ribbon and some pink pearls...

And, that's it! I hope to preserve many special memories in this pretty, heart-shaped box. And, I hope you have enjoyed the time you've spent with me today. I hope your day is going well for you. It's been a busy one around here today. I am trying to finish up my project for the Anniversary Amore Blog Hop that I am taking part in tomorrow (nothing like getting down to the last minute!). No project for you today, but I do have a winning name for you from the Love My Cameo Blog Hop that I played along with this past weekend. I hope you all enjoyed the hop as much as I did! Ok, on to my winning name! Most people just use the Random Number Generator to choose their winning name, but I thought I would use something a bit more fun...my cute little Yorkie named Lola...

So, I had 61 wonderful comments. I wrote each number on a scrap of paper, folded and put into a bowl for Lola to choose from. She was not very cooperative at first and spent the first 15 minutes walking around the bowl barking at it. Finally, I tipped the bowl over and rattled around the scraps of paper making it a bit more appealing to a 3 month old pup....

She finally went for it and then...took off with the winning number in her mouth! I had to chase her down to get the number from her!...

She really did not want to let go of that paper...lol! In case you can't read the number in her mouth...

Ok, so let's get started with my project. I wanted to make a special Valentine's gift for my granddaughter Emma. Lately she has a fascination with unicorns and Pegasus. So, when I came across this cute little Pegasus image at the Silhouette Store, I knew I had to use it for Emma's gift....

Notebook Recipe:

* I cut two pieces of chipboard to 7 X 8 inches and covered with this fun Valentine's, striped paper from K&Company. I added some white stitching lines with my gel pen.

* I cut a top-note shape (purchased at the Silhouette Store0 from the heart patterned paper, inked up the edges and added some hot pink ribbon before adhering it to the striped layers.

* The scalloped heart is also purchased from the Silhouette Store. I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the "Doodle Hearts" embossing folder by Paper Studio. Next I spritzed the heart with a bit of Silver "Glimmer Mist". I also used a white gel pen to add a few stitching lines around my heart.

* After cutting out and assembling the Pegasus image, I added some Martha Stewart glitter in "Sugar Cube" to his wings and "Tourmaline" to his tail and mane. I also used a paper punch to make a wreath of flowers around his neck. The center of each flower has a hot pink gem.

* I used the Spellbinders die "Labels 11" to create my sentiment mat which is stamped with the perfect sentiment from the Pink By Design stamp set Inner Princess. After adding a few stitching lines, I slipped my sentiment mat under the ribbon and glued into place.

* I cut sheet of white and pink paper for the inside pages and bound the notebook together using my Cinch and some hot pink .75 inch wire.

* Hot pink and white ribbon tied to the wires finished off the front of my book.

Pencil Holder Recipe:

* I cleaned and smoothed off the edges of a vegetable can and sprayed it with white spray paint.

* After it was completely dry, I covered the can with more of that cute Valentine paper and added a white border created with a Martha Stewart punch.

* I cut out several hearts in various sizes on my Cameo and stamped them with fun sentiments from Pink By Design.

* A hot pink bow finishes up this easy project!

Hi there! It's good to have you pop by for a visit! How's it going on those Valentine cards? I think I just finished up my last card for this special holiday. This one was super easy and very quick to put together...

This card was really quick to put together because I used so many pre-made items. I started with an off-white card base and inked up the edges with Vintage Sepia Distress Ink.

* Next, I added a layer of this beautiful paper from a K&Company paper stack and some crinkle ribbon in that gorgeous deep chocolate color.

* I inked up a pre-made doily and added that the cardstock layer

* The vintage looking valentines are from the K&Company paper stack Valentine Sweetheart. I gave them a quick spritz of spray adhesive and sprinkled them with Martha Stewart coarse glitter.

* The "tickets" are from Tim Holtz. These were tucked back behind the vintage valentines and glued into place.

* The Bingo card is from the fun stamp set Bingo by Pink By Design. I stamped it onto off-white cardstock with Barn Door Distress ink. I cut the stamped image out and added a red heart covered with more coarse glitter and tucked it behind the doily.

I really love all the sparkle and layers on this card!

Hello everyone!

I'm so happy that you stopped by because I have a very special post to share with you today. Some of you already know about my sweet young friend, Trinitie. And for those of you have not yet had the pleasure, I would like to introduce you! Meet Trinitie...

This darling little girl is the granddaughter of a very special friend and a member of the church I attend. Trinitie recently underwent surgery to have a brain tumor removed and will be starting follow up treatments soon. Trinitie is 10 years old and is such an inspiring young lady. She has been a trooper though everything she has had to deal with recently and still has a long road ahead of her.

So, now that you've "met" Trinitie, how would like to send her card to let her know that people all around the country and even the world are thinking about her, praying for her and wishing her the very best? I have already posted Trin's story on my Facebook page and on the Cricut Message Board. And now I'm appealing to all the wonderful crafters who visit with me from time to time. I hope to put together a huge stash of cards to deliver to Trinite and make her smile! Have a Whopper of a birthday

Hi everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

Today is my turn to post over at the Pink By Design blog and I thought I would share my project with you here as well. Today's project is sort of special because it is for my baby boy, Matthew! I'm sure he really doesn't want me to call him "baby boy"...especially since he is turning 29 years old tomorrow, but that's just too bad! (I'm so happy that he doesn't have the password to edit my blog!)

Anyway....29 years ago tomorrow, I gave birth, with great pain and suffering (he always likes for me to throw in that part), to a whopping 8 pound, 14 ounce baby boy! I don't know how the years have flown by so quickly, but that baby boy has grown into a fine young man and police officer and his family is very proud of him!

I'm not sure that he even reads my blog (ha!) but now that I have sufficiently embarrassed him, I'll get on with showing you my project...

Hello everyone and welcome!

I can't believe it but it's the last day of January already! Didn't I just take down my Christmas decorations? This month has just flown by! Have you started working on Valentines Day projects yet? I'm happy to say that I have completed a frame for each of my 3 grandchildren (you can see them here) and I've started on my cards.

Today's card is for my Mama. We lost my Daddy 5 years ago on February 24th. 10 days after Valentines Day and 8 days after my Mama's birthday. So, as you can imagine, February brings around lots of memories and emotions. My Daddy was an awesome man (spoken like a true "Daddy's Girl") and my parents were a great "couple". 5 years later, I still think of them as a "couple"...I still catch myself thinking "I need to call Mama and Daddy" or I can't wait to tell "Mama and Daddy". I guess some couples are just....

Unforgettable

I used the following items for my card:

* White 5 X 6.5 card base

* Red cardstock layer, punched on the sides with a Martha Stewart Punch

* I used K&Company printed paper to cut .75 inch strips. I distressed the edges of each strip, inked them up using Ranger's Barn Door ink and adhered them to my red layer.

* The adorable kissing couple is from the Silhouette store. I ran the cut through my Xyron and covered it with Martha Stewart glitter in Garnet.

* My sentiment mat is cut using the Spellbinders die Grommet Tags and inked up with Ranger's Barn Door ink.

* The beautiful sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set Just Breathe. I finished off the sentiment mat with a couple of gems by Recollections.

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I have the pleasure of posting on the Pink By Design Blog and I would like to share my card with you here as well. If you love to add stamped sentiments to your card and you haven't checked out the newest release from Pink By Design...well....you are really missing out! You need to pop over and see the newest stamp sets, I know you are gonna love them!

I had a really tough time deciding which set I wanted to use first, but finally decided on the beautiful set, You Are. This is a great set, filled with some wonderful, fun sentiments. So, here's what I came up with using this set and the background stamp Script...

Recipe:

* Papers - "Simple Elegance" paper stack by Paper Studio

* PBD background stamp "Script"

*Black grosgrain ribbon

*Sentiment mat - "Art Philosophy" Cricut cartridge cut at 1.25 inches

*Sentiment - PBD stamp set "You Are"

*Martha Stewart glitter "Florentine Gold"

*Pen and ink bottle image - Silhouette Store - "Pen & Ink" - with a few changes:

1. I replaced the feather with a peacock feather purchased at Michael's

2. I added a label to the ink bottle and added Glossy Accents to the "ink" portion of the cut

I love that changing out my cardstock feather to a "real" feather brought so much color, depth and dimension to my card...

Emma's Frame

Hello everyone and welcome! Thanks for popping in for a visit, I'm always happy to have you drop by! I am so proud of myself...I finished all 3 Valentine's Day frames for my grandchildren before the month of January is over! Today I have Emma's (my only granddaughter) frame to share with you. She wanted Lola to be in the photo with her.....

Recipe:

* Dollar frame from Michel's

*Folk Art acrylic paint in Hot Pink

*Paper - Paper Studio You + Me paper stack

*Banner - Birthday Bash cut at 1.75 inches

*Letters - Birthday Bash cut at 1 inch (pink layer covered in Blush glitter by Recollections)

*Pink Sorbet bakers twine from The Twinery

*Roses - Art Philosophy cut at 3.75 inches and 4.25 inches

*Roses are inked up with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink by Ranger

*After assembling the roses, I spritzed them with spray adhesive and sprinkle on a bit of Blush glitter

*Before attaching the roses to the frame, I used my hot glue gun to attach a bit of white tulle and a couple of pearl stick pins.

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! I spent most of my Saturday morning crafting in my jammies, so it was an awesome day for me! Last night we had some major thunderstorms to come though for about an hour. I spent most of that time holding Lola (my little Yorkie) who was scared to death by all the thunder! Poor baby, I guess it was her first storm (she's almost 3 months old).

So, today I'm going to share with you another Valentine's Day picture frame. I am making one for each of my 3 grandchildren for Valentine's Day this year. Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! I hope your week is going well for you. Mine has been pretty busy so far and I seem to be having trouble finding time to craft. I am still spending a big portion of my day chasing after Lola (my Christmas Yorkie), but she is getting better each day with the potty training. But, once I sit down with my sweet little bundle of fur, it's really tough to make myself get up and get moving again...she's just so loving and would cuddle all day if I let her!

I started on some Valentine's Day projects and I hope that will get me motivated to spend more time in my craft corner. I decided to make a special Valentine's Day frame for each of my 3 sweet grandchildren this year. I started with Brayden's frame and just finished it up today. Brayden is our youngest grandson, he is almost 5 months old and such a cutie...

In this photo, Brayden is wearing a smocked outfit that his Great-Grandmother smocked for my son (Brayden's Daddy) many years ago. I love that we have been able to get a photo of both of my grandsons in this outfit!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! I hope your weekend is going well for you and you are able to spend some time with someone you love! I'm looking forward to having my sweet granddaughter Emma over for a long weekend and having some "girl time"! I'm thinking a movie and some scrapping time and maybe even some shopping!

It's my turn to post over at the Pink By Design Blog today and I thought I would share my project here with you as well. Ok, on to my project! How many times have you needed to wrap a gift (at the last minute) for a shower, birthday party or other occasion just to realize that you don't have appropriate wrapping paper? Happens to me all the time! So, I keep those plain white gift bags that you can buy in a bundle at most craft stores on hand at all times! They are perfect for making a personalized gift bag for any occasion. I recently had a baby shower to attend for a special friend. I purchased my gift, got home and once again...no wrapping paper. So, I pulled out my stash of bags, turned on my Cricut and got busy....

Recipe:

* Large Scallop - Grand Nestabilities - Scalloped Circles

* Baby Shoes - Cricut cartridge - Kate's ABCs (cut at 3.5 inches)

* Rattle - Cricut cartridge - Baby Steps (cut at 4 inches)

* Ribbon is from my stash. I applied a strip of double sided tape to my white circle and gathered my ribbon as I adhered it to the white mat.

* Sentiment mat - Spellbinders - Grommet Tags

* Sentiment - Pink By Design stamp set All Girl

* Pearls on shoes and mat are from Recollections

* I added Diamond Stickles to the rattle and embossed the tip of the rattle with the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots

* For the trim at the top of my bag, I cut a 2 inch strip of my patterned paper and used a Martha Stewart punch to create a sweet little border.

* I used Distressed Ink in Worn Lipstick to ink up most of the edges

Lola says "Thank You" to the Cricut Couple!

Hello everyone and welcome!

Just a quick little post today to share something special with you. As many of you know, I received the cutest little Yorkie puppy for Christmas this year. Her name is Lola and she is spoiled rotten already! She consumes a good bit of my time and most of my attention these days! I have shared several photos of Lola on my blog already, but please bear with me as I have another "photo shoot" to share with you today! And, I'll just go ahead and apologize for the photos I'm sure to post in the near future!

A few days ago my hubby came in from getting the mail and had a large envelope in his hands. He told me that Lola was much to young to be receiving mail. Of course I looked at him like he had lost his mind and read the front of the envelope he was holding out for me. It was addressed to

Tanya and Lola Adams.

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner!

I hope your weekend is going well and you are slowly getting back to "normal" after all the holiday festivities! It's been a slow return to normal around here, but we are getting there...I think!

Now that the holidays are over, I thought I better get started on a few special thank you notes. I wanted to do some winter themed cards this year. We get so little "real winter" here in southeast Alabama and have the short time frame between Christmas and Valentines Day to really have any cold weather. When we do get a bit of cold weather, I pull out my big, heavy quilt and add it to my bed. There is just something about a quilt that says warm and cozy! So, I decided to "quilt" my thank you card for a warm and cozy kind of feeling....

Now...is that warm and cozy or what?

Recipe:

*Cardstock - Coredinations

*Patterned paper - Winter Magic by DCWV (Nine 1.5 X 1.5 inch squares)

*Mat - Spellbinders Beaded Circles die (medium blue) and Circles die (light blue)

The light blue, circular mat was stamped with snowflakes from the Pink By Design stamp set Snowflakes. I used Versa Mark ink in Dazzle and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

*Snowman - Cricut's 'Tis The Season cartridge cut at 2.75 inches. I embossed his hat with the Cuttlebug folder Houndstooth and used Glossy Accents on the brim of his hat, eyes, and mouth. I replaced the star on his hat with snowflakes I made with a paper punch. A few dots and some Stickles were the finishing touches.

*Sentiment is also from the Pink By Design stamp set Snowflakes.

I continued the "quilted look" on the inside of my card...

And, that's my warm and cozy card for today!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner and the New Year! I hope your New Year has started out in a fabulous way! I've spent my day cleaning up the rest of the Christmas decorations, doing a bit of shopping and playing with Lola...it's been a great day!

It has only been a week since my last post but seems so much longer. We have been going non-stop around our house for the past couple of weeks and it's been so long since I have had to time to play in my craft corner. I have a tag to share with you today that I created a while back and just never got around to posting. I was missing my blog and all my bloggy friends so I had to find something to post on here! Hello everyone and welcome!

Well...are you ready for the big day yet? I'm almost there....still a few little things to finish (always a few little things to finish...sigh). They can probably put that on my headstone when I die...lol!

Today is my sweet Emma's birthday...can't believe she is 7 years old today! The time has just flown by since I watched her take her first breath...and how she has grown! Emma was a wonderful baby, easy to take care and almost always happy. She is growing into a beautiful, sweet young lady who is still easy to take care of and almost always happy! She has also become my favorite crafting partner and loves to play in Nonna's Craft Corner. Of course, she has her own little craft corner here at our house, but she prefers mine! She tells me that I have way more "craft stuff" than her. And, I really can't argue with her there...lol! But, she is gaining on me daily!

Emma spent the night with me a couple of nights ago and we worked on a project to make sure Santa's reindeer had no trouble finding our house. We made reindeer food using the fun stamps from Jaded Blossom. I cut labels using my Spellbinders, stamped the poem and image and Emma colored the images using my copics and stickles....cause Nonna has more craft stuff....

We filled the bags with oatmeal and silver glitter so the moonlight will make the reindeer food shine and sparkle....

(what a happy little crafter!)

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! Looks like I will be sharing my corner for now on! I received my Christmas present a few days early this year....and her name is Lola...

Lola is a Teacup Yorkie and she weighs in at a whopping 1.25 pounds!

I have wanted a Yorkie for a couple of years now and finally talked my hubby into it. Lola already has him wrapped around one of her tiny little paws!

She is already quite spoiled and is sitting in my lap as I type this up!

She is also a lot of work, it's like having a newborn in the house. But, she is doing well so far with the potty training stuff. However, I haven't crafted a thing since we picked her up on Saturday! That's ok, I'll just have to work overtime once we get this potty business down...please Lord, make it soon!

I also wanted to take a minute to say thank you for all the visits and comments on the layout I created for Emily's Back to the 80's Birthday Blog Hop.. That was such a fun hop and brought back so many memories! I had 48 comments and used Random Number Generator to chose number....

So, before we get started just let me say Happy Birthday Emily, I hope you have a wonderful day! What a fun way to celebrate your birthday! Emily has a wonderful line-up of talented friends to help celebrate her birthday today!

So, are you ready to get started with my project? Crank up your boom box with some totally rad tunes, make sure your hair is in a side ponytail and you have on your LA Gears! Here we go....

Last spring my granddaughter Emma had "Wacky Tacky Day" at school. We had a lot of fun pulling out clothes and accessories that she could use for her outfit. When we finished putting everything together and fixing her hair, I made the comment "You look like Cyndi Lauper!" Of course my 6 year old granddaughter (a child of 2004) had no clue who Cyndi Lauper was! Being her grandmother, it is my honor and duty to educate her on such things.....so...it was Google to the rescue! After downloading several pictures of Cyndi in her wild clothes and pink hair, Emma was a fan! While I was at it, I bought a few songs from itunes and without a doubt, Emma and I have a hand's down favorite Cyndi Lauper song.....

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun....

Recipe:

* This fun, hot pink, glittery cardstock is from the Femme' Fatale paper stack by Recollections.

* The neon green letters in the title are from the Cricut cartridge Birthday Bash

* The glittery stars are cut from Cricut's Rock Princess cartridge. I used lots of Martha Stewart glitter on the stars. I also cut two bottom layers so that I could use pop dots to lift the stars up from the cardstock and add some dimension to my layout.

* My sentiment mat is cut from the Spellbinders die Labels 11. I cut two labels out of black cardstock. Using VersaMark Ink, I stamped the background stamp Swirls from Pink By Design onto one layer of my black label. I used a hot pink embossing powder and my heat gun to give the stamp a bright, shiny neon look. Then, using pop dots, I adhered the two black labels.

* I typed up my journaling onto white cardstock, cut it using the Spellbinders die and added it to my sentiment label.

* I love, love, love the boom box! It's also cut from the Rock Princess cartridge. The speakers got a coat of black glitter and the antenna is covered with Glossy Accents.

* The musical notes are from Rock Princess "Heart Font".

*For the second page, I used a larger die in the Labels 11 set and this time I used a neon green for the embossing.

* My version of the fabulous Miss Cyndi Lauper is also cut from Rock Princess. I gave her pink hair a run through my Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls folder. I added lots of glitter to her jewelery and layers of pink and black tulle made a fabulous, swirly skirt and fun hair bow!

Christmas In Pink And Green

Hello everyone and welcome! I'm happy that you have found a minute or two during this busy holiday season to drop by for a visit! Are you stressed yet? I'm beginning to get that way. We have a very busy weekend ahead of us and I think once I get through that, I'll be ok.....maybe! I have most of my cards finished and mailed, however, I would like to make some "reindeer food" for all my great-nieces and nephews before our Christmas get-together. If only there were more hours in the day (awww...never mind....I would only find more projects!)

Christmas Ornament-Pink By Design Style!

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world! I hope your weekend is going well and you are making a huge dent in your Christmas preparations! I could get a lot more done if I would stay off this computer and stay in my craft corner! Between blog hopping, Facebook and Pinterest, I spend way too much time on this computer.

Speaking of Pinterest....are you as addicted as I am? I could (and have) spent hours just scrolling down the pages, oohing and aahing over all the fabulous creations! It's a wonderful, fantasy land for crafters! On one of my recent visits, I came across an ornament that had been made using strips cut from an old book and adhered to a Christmas ball. I loved the look of this ornament and the image really stuck with me. A couple of days ago, I decided to give it a try, with my own twist and this is what I came up with...

So, let me tell you how I put this fun ornament together. I started with one of those semi-flat, plastic ornaments that you can find at Michal's or Hobby Lobby. I wanted a glass ornament, but they were sold out. I wasn't sure how the plastic version would do, but it turned out fine. Here's the ornament I worked with....

Now comes the fun part!

* Using 12 X 12, lightweight, white cardstock, I cut half inch strips.

* Using the Pink By Design stamp sets Christmas Wishes and Winter Fun, I added 2 sentiments to my stamp block. I inked them up using Distressed Ink in Barn Door Red and stamped the entire length of my 1/2 X12 inch strip of cardstock.

* After stamping the sentiments, I sniped them apart and inked up the edges....

* Now comes the messy part! Using Mod Podge (matte finish) and a foam paint brush, I started adhering the strips to my ornament. I don't have photos of this step for you because my hands were very full and very messy at the time!

* My best advice is to just go slowly. Think about your placement as you go and after adhering a few pieces, give them a chance to dry a bit before adding more strips.

* After the ornament was completely dry, I covered one side with a thin layer of Mod Podge and sprinkled it with some coarse glitter in Crystal. I let that side dry, then repeated the process on the other side.

* Once everything was dry, I added a green tulle bow and my ornament was ready to hang on our Christmas tree....

Now...I have to get off this computer and go wrap gifts, finish up Christmas cards, clean the house, do some laundry...oh what the heck...I think I'll go see what's going on at Pinterest. A few minutes won't hurt....see ya later!

Christmas Gift Tag

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! I hope your week is going well and your Christmas preparations are well under way. Can you believe that it is already December 8th? I don't know about you, but I still have so much to do. I haven't quite hit "panic mode" yet, but I know that it's lurking just around the corner! Hee...hee...as I write this, the song "The Grinch" just starting playing on my music channel...hmmmmmm?

Ok, so I have been working like a crazy woman to finish up my Christmas cards and gift tags! And, I worked on this tag I'm about to share to with you for waaaaay too long. It just didn't turn out like the vision that was floating around in my head and I'm not really sure if I even like it. But, having said all of that....I spent too much stinking time on this thing to not share it! So, here we go...

Recipe:

* I started with a pre-made Inksenntials tag and covered it with paper from the I Believe In Santa paper stack from The Paper Studio.

*The rosette is from my new Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge and is partly to blame for the time this project took! I just had to make a rosette from this new cart! I cut out a rosette strip from the cart, but when I put it together I really didn't like the way the little perforated cuts showed up. Maybe it was because it was on white paper, but they were just to noticeable to me. So, I used the Border from page 31 and cut two strips at 2 X 11 inches. I cut one of those strips down to 6 inches and joined them. Then I used my score board and made it the old fashioned way! I like the results from this method much better and inked up the edges with red ink.

*After spending so much time on the rosette, I grabbed a couple of Spellbinders and made the green and red mats for the center.

*I used my I Top to create the red brad in the center, after stamping some red cardstock with a sentiment from the Pink By Design stamp set Christmas Wishes.

*After adding all the layers to my rosette, I gave it a spritz of spray adhesive and sprinkled on some coarse glitter in Crystal.

Here's a close up of the rosette...

*The Christmas tree behind the rosette is also from the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge and is cut at 4 inches. I embossed the tree with the Divine Swirls folder and gave it a sprinkle of coarse glitter.

* A few gems, ribbon and bling finished up my tag and I added some silver, glittery tulle to the top of my tag...and...there you go....

It may not be the vision I had floating around in my head, but...it's beginning to grow on me! And it sure does sparkle! Sparkle is good...right? Ok, that's it for me now, I've got to go wrap about a gazillion gifts...hmmm...wonder who is going to get this tag on their gift?

It's been warm and yucky here for a couple of days and the rain started falling some time last night. I hope it cools things off a bit, it's hard to get into the Christmas mood when it's a balmy 78 degrees outside.

I have a quick, but cute Christmas card to share with you today....and...the winner's name for my little give away from the Christmas Cards Blog Hop. So, let's get started with my card. * That cute little Santa is from the 'Tis The Season Cricut cartridge. I cut the Santa out at 5 inches. The bottom layer was cut twice and I used pop dots between the layers.

* Santa's hat is covered with white flocking and his beard is covered in Carrara Marble glitter by Martha Stewart.

* I added some eyelash yarn in glittery green (also from Martha Stewart) and a couple of jingle bells along the bottom border.

* The stamp is one I've had for years and I really don't know who made it, but I thought it was perfect for this card!

I really love this cute Santa face. 'Tis The Season has really turned into my favorite Christmas cartridge this year. It has so many fun images...

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner and The Christmas Card Blog Hop! I'm so excited today because I am a part of the Christmas Cards Blog Hop over at Creations With Becka . We have an exciting line up of ladies who have all created Christmas cards to give you ideas of homemade cards you can make to send to your friends and family this holiday season. I don't know about you, but I love to give and receive handmade cards, especially Christmas cards. There is just something about a handmade card that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! This is my second Christmas to send out only handmade cards. I hope that everyone who receives a card from me will know that they while they may not be perfect, my cards were made with love.

Ok, so let's get started! For today's hop, I created a fun Christmas card and gift tag set....

For this cute little set, I used the Cricut cartridge 'Tis The Season. I am really enjoying this cartridge, it has so many wonderful images! Here's a close up of my card....

Recipe:

* I started out with a black, pre-made card and layered it with a piece of red cardstock.

* The Santa belt was created with the 'Tis The Season cartridge. I cut the belt at 2.5 inches.

* To get the look of leather, I embossed the black portion of the belt with the Cuttlebug folder Animal Prints. Then, I covered the black cut with Versa Mark Ink and clear embossing powder. I used my heat gun to set it and then repeated the process to get a really nice shine.

* The silver portions of the cut were covered with Martha Stewart glitter in Sterling.

Here's a close up of the belt, I hope you can see the embossing and shine a bit better...

* Just a note * - The belt on 'Tis The Season does not have the portion to the left of the buckle. The cut begins with the buckle and has the end of the belt to the right. However, I wanted the buckle to be centered on my card so that it would look like Santa's suit. So, I cut an extra strip of black and extra strip of the dark gray and just added them onto the left side of the buckle. This put Santa's belt in the center of my card.

* I added the "fur" trim to the bottom of Santa's suit and added 3 white buttons threaded with twine to the center of my card.

And, here's the inside...

* For the inside, I cut a layer of the dark gray cardstock and a smaller layer of white. I used my corner rounder on all the corners and inked up the edges with red ink.

* I added some of that cute red twine and used the stamp set Old Time Christmas from Pink By Design.

And, here's a photo of the gift tag...

* For my tag, I used 'Tis The Season again, cutting the tag at 5 inches.

* A bit of "fur" around the bottom and on the pom-pom gives a festive look!
* I also used 'Tis The Season for that cute little twig of holly. The holly is cut at 2 inches and I added red Stickles to the berries.

* I punched a hole along the top and added some Maraschino twine from The Twinery to attach the tag to the handle of the bag.

On The Second Day Of Christmas...

Hello everyone and welcome!

I'm so happy that you stopped by today because I have a couple of fun things to share with you! Over the next few days, the Pink By Design Blog will be showcasing projects inspired by the classic Christmas song "The 12 Days of Christmas". As a design team member, I get to play along...yay! The wonderfully talented Elizabeth started us off yesterday with her creation to honor the first day of Christmas with A Partridge In A Pear Tree. I hope you will take a minute to see her lovely card.

My card is inspired by The Second Day of Christmas. And, if you remember that song, you know that the second day of Christmas involves Two Turtle Doves.....

It's not often that I create a card (or anything for that matter) that I truly, truly love. But....this card, I truly love! I'm just really pleased with the way it turned out, even if I can't get that tune out of my head! I think I hummed it to myself the entire time I worked on this card!

Here's the way this card came together...

* I created an ivory easel card base and inked up the edges using Distressed ink in Tea Dye.

* Patterned cardstock is from Recollections paper stack The 12 Days of Christmas (how great is that?)

* After covering the ivory card base in the dark brown paper, I cut another layer from the plaid paper for the front of my card. Then, using a Nestabilities die, I cut a circle in the center, top portion of the plaid paper.

* I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the branches for my wreath. I used a green, patterned paper also in this paper stack to punch the branches. I wanted the shades of green to vary, so I inked up some of the branches using a dark green ink....

* Next, I started gluing the branches around the circle. I just placed the branches overlapping one another and turned at various angles until I was happy with the way it looked. After the glue had time to dry, I added red gems for holly berries and some green crinkle ribbon along the bottom.

* The doves are cut from Cricut's Joys of the Season cartridge at 2.75 inches. The image is really sort of skinny, so I cut it out 3 times and glued the cuts together to give it a bit more strength.

* I needed the image to be pretty tough because next comes a coat of Glossy Accents and lots of gold glitter. And the heart gets a coat of red glitter.

* After everything was dry, I placed the plaid layer on top of the easel card to check placement for the doves. After finding the correct placement, I removed the plaid layer and adhered the doves...

* I didn't want my wreath to be right on top of the doves, I wanted a bit more dimension, so I added pop dots to the back of the plaid layer to lift it up...

* Next it's time to add all the "pretties"! The rose is from Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. I used the rose from page 70 and cut it at 3.5 inches. After putting it together, I gave it a spritz of spray adhesive and a dash of red glitter.

* I hand cut a sentiment mat, inked up the edges and stamped it with that beautiful sentiment from the Christmas Wishes stamp set by Pink By Design. I tucked the sentiment mat under the rose and added that lovely stick pin.

*For the bottom portion of my easel card, I cut another layer of ivory cardstock, inked up the edges and stamped it with the Music background stamp from Pink By Design.

* Back to Joys of the Season for the phrase 2 turtle doves. I used the phrase and shadow to cut this out at 2.5 inches. I adhered the phrase to my card and there you have it....

Hello everyone and welcome!

I hope your weekend is going well for you. I've spent mine crafting and trying to get Christmas decorations up. I'm afraid I've spent more time crafting than decorating and I'm going to have to tackle that 13 foot Christmas tree sometime this afternoon!

Today is Sunday and my turn to post on the Pink By Design Blog. I can't wait to show you the card I created for my post. But first, if you are looking for the Christmas Gifts Blog Hop, please click here.

For my card today, I wanted to do something a bit different. I have been trying to branch out from the usual, traditional Christmas colors I have used in the past for my Christmas cards. Several weeks ago, I purchased the Christmas Emporium paper stack by Graphic 45. This paper stack has some gorgeous colors and prints and gave me the little push I need to work outside my comfort zone. After flipping through the stack several times and trying to make a decision, this is what I came up with....

Recipe:

* I started with an ivory, pre-made card base and inked up the edges with Distressed ink in Barn Door Red. I added a layer of red cardstock from Coredinations.

* Next, I added a layer of the Graphic 45 print. This layer is black with little holly leaves in ivory/gold color.

* The next layer is also from the same Graphic 45 stack and is black with Christmas phrases printed in the same ivory/gold color.

* I used foam dimensional tape between the two black layers to add some separation and dimension.

* The deer is cut from Cricut's 'Tis The Season cartridge at 5 inches from paper that is also in this fabulous paper stack. I cut the deer out twice and used pop dots between the layers.

* My sentiment mat is cut from Art Philosophy at 1.25 inches. I added Martha Stewart glitter in Carnelian to the red frame for a pop of color.

* The sentiment is from the Boughs of Holly stamp set by Pink By Design.

* For an additional pop of color, I added that wonderful cranberry colored Crinkle Ribbon. I found a cute little medallion in my stash of goodies that nestled perfectly into my bow.

I think you can see all the layers a bit better in this photo...

It can be quite a challenge for me to work outside the box sometimes, but I really like the way my "non-traditional" card turned out. I think it has a nice vintage feel to it....

Ok, so let's get started! Today's hop is going to be filled with great ideas for homemade Christmas gifts for the special people in your lives, like family, friends, co-workers and teachers. With Christmas just around the corner, we thought it would be a great idea to showcase some wonderful Christmas gifts not only made by hand, but also made with love! Now...on to my special gift...

My gift today is for a special friend. She and I have a lot in common and we both share a love for two very yummy things.....coffee and books! I think we both agree that one of life's great pleasures is siting down with a good book and a hot cup of coffee. So, I decided to combine both of those pleasures into a Christmas gift for my sweet friend and this is what I came up with...

How's that for festive?

Let me tell you how I put this together!

I started with a Starbuck's 4 bottle Frappuccino carton. Now, the first step is very, very important and I can't stress this enough...the first step is to drink all the Frappuccinos! Once you get that step out of the way, you're ready to get started...hey...crafting is a tough job!

Once I emptied all my bottles, I washed them out really well and peeled the labels off. You may have to use some Goo-be-gone to get all the sticky residue off. I also spray painted the lids white. Be sure to let them dry and air out for a day or two to avoid any yucky paint smells!

Next, it's time to decorate your box. Chose your patterned paper and get busy! I do recommend that you use some fairly sturdy paper so that it will hold up well. You can see more instructions on covering the box along with more photos by clicking HERE.

Once you are finished covering the box, it's time to decorate and the options are endless! I knew that I wanted to incorporate something to do with books into my gift and I came up with the idea of using part of the decorations as a gift card holder. So, when creating the mat for my cute little coffee cup, I cut two layers and used foam dimension strips to adhere the layers together. This allowed room to insert my gift card...

*The mat is created using the Art Philosophy cartridge by Cricut. This cut is found on page 47 and is cut at 4.5 inches. The white portion is embossed with the Snowflakes folder and I added Martha Stewart's Garnet glitter to the red frame.

*The coffee cup is from the Winter Frolic cartridge and is cut at 3.5 inches.

*I placed my gift card onto the bottom layer (cut in red) of my mat to see how I needed to place my foam strips.

*After putting the layers together, I used Zip Dry glue to add my completed mat to the covered frappuccino carton.

*I also punched a small hole in one end of my gift card to add some tulle. Be very careful not to punch anywhere near the black strip that is scanned at the store!

While all of that was drying, I worked on covering the frappuccino bottles. I cut a strip of patterned paper and added a white strip that I created with a Martha Stewart punch. I glued them onto the bottles using Zip Dry glue and added a bit of white ribbon. You don't want to make the bottles too bulky or they won't fit back into the carton. Next, I filled the bottles with different, flavored creamers....

*I typed the name of each creamer and printed them out on white cardstock. I used a circle punch to punch out each label. Next, I inked up the white circles with red ink.

* Using Art Philosophy, I cut out red scallops from the image found on page 41 at 1.5 inches. I covered them in the Martha Stewart glitter then adhered the white portion of the label. These were glued to the top of my bottles.

For a festive look, I tied strips of red and green tulle around the handle of the carton...

And, I created a tag for the side of my carton...

*I cut this little tag out by hand, added some gems and some tulle. The sentiment is from the Old Time Christmas stamp set by Pink By Design. And that finished off my gift!

I have a couple of things to share with you today. First I would like to show you an easel card that I put together for the Santa Slacker's Challenge going on over at the Cricut Message Board. This week's challenge was to create a card featuring an ornament. I decided to use this challenge to do a bit more exploring on my new 'Tis The Season cartridge. My own personal challenge is to spend more time with each cartridge and learn just what it has to offer. As I continue to explore this cartridge, I am finding more and more features that I love....

Recipe:

* Patterned paper - g.c.d. - Home For The Holidays paper stack

* Ornament - 'Tis The Season cartridge, image found on page 57. Cut at 3.25 inches, cutting the bottom layer twice and adhering with pop dots.

* I added silver Stickles to the "metal" portion of the ornament and used Martha Stewart's Limeade glitter for the green sections.

* A Martha Stewart punch was used for the fun green border along the bottom. I also covered it in Limeade glitter.

* The sentiment is also from 'Tis The Season. This is the first time I have used the Phrase Feature on this cartridge and I really like it! This phrase is found on page 41 and is cut at 2.5 inches. I cut the bottom layer twice and added pop dots between the layers. More Limeade glitter on the green portion of this cut.

* The hot pink gems are from Recollections.

I have to say I am really loving this 'Tis The Season cartridge!

Cold Days...

Well, I made it back to post twice in one day!

Welcome everyone! If you missed my earlier post, just scroll down to see the winner of the 25.00 gift certificate from Pink By Design.. You can also read about my frustration as I tried to install my new wireless adapter for my Cricut Expression 2! But, I am pleased to say that it is up and running smoothly (at the moment) and I am able to cut with it...yay!

Before I show you the card I made this afternoon, I want to explain a new feature on my blog. If you notice the little tags that Chris from Get Inspired With Chatter Scene so fabulously installed for me at the top of my blog, there is one called Cartridge Corner. My intention for this little corner is to explore cartridges that are either new to me or neglected by me. I can't tell you how many times I have purchased a cartridge only to use it once or twice, put it back on the shelf and move on to something else. I really need to take more time and explore all the options available on my multitude of carts! So...all that to say...my next few posts will be centered on exploring my newest cartridge...'Tis The Season by Creative Memories.

This is a beautiful Christmas cartridge and I think it will quickly become one of my favorites for Christmas cards and tags. This cartridge includes the following Creative Features:

*Layer

*Phrase

*Phrase Layer

*Sleigh Ride Font

*Monogram

I hope you will join me over the next few days as I try to create something using each of these features. Ok, on to today's card. I wanted to try something a bit simple as this is my first project using the Cricut Craft Room and here's what I came up with...

For this fun little card, I used the mitten image on page 35 of the handbook. I brought it up on my screen in the Cricut Craft Room program, sized it to 5 inches and copied it. I flipped the second mitten, then welded the 2 mittens together....

Sorry about the glare!

*I sent this image to my E2 and cut the base of my card out from green cardstock.

*Next I cut a single mitten out of my patterned paper and adhered it to the top of my card. I cut the "fringe" around the bottom of my card from pink cardstock and covered it with flocking powder in Peony from Martha Stewart.

*I used the Christmas tree image from page 60 using the shift key and cut it at 5 inches. I covered the green portion of the tree in Fennel flocking powder by Martha Stewart.

*The star is also from page 60 and can be cut using the Layer key. The star is covered with Cupcake Glitter from Doodlebug.

*I hand cut a small tag for my sentiment. I used the Winter Fun stamp set from Pink by Design and added it to my card using that cute red/pink/white twine.

*I also added some stitching lines to my card using a white gel pen.

Here's the inside of my card...

*I stamped the inside with the sentiment from Winter Fun.

* I cut out a 2 inch heart using the Cricut cartridge George and covered it with the Cupcake Glitter.

*A few more stitching lines and my card was complete!

I really like how this cute little card turned out and I'm really excited about the endless possibilities that come with the Cricut Craft Room. I am going to post this card at the "Link Up Party" going on at Robin's Creative Cottage. I hope you will join in on the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday to you and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I'm looking forward to spending mine in my Craft Corner. I think I finally have my Craft Room program from Cricut all set up and ready to roll! I spent hours last night updating my Expression 2 and installing my new wireless adapter. I could not get it to connect correctly and finally gave up and went to bed around 2 this morning. Got up today and decided to ask my hubby for help (I so hate to ask for help). Anyway, after a few minutes, we figured out that I had used the wrong password to our wireless connection....and ...ta...da...I'm in! I was even able to make a cut with it using the wireless connection! I plan on playing with it more today and hopefully will have something to share with you later today or tomorrow!

I hope your week is going well. So far, so good in my little corner. Well, I have really slacked off on getting my Christmas cards ready for this year and thought I better get back to it! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just a week away! So much to do and so little time to get it done! Ok, here's another card to add to my stash...

I worked with this card and worked with this card! It's really a simple card, but it just would NOT come together for me for some reason. I changed the papers, I changed the mats, I changed the embossing...ugh! Did you ever have one of those days? After starting and re-starting several times, I think I like the card I finally ended up with...

Recipe:

* Papers - Paper Studio - I Believe In Santa stack and Recollections - Jolly & Bright stack

* I used Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Rectangles to mat my holly leaves. The white layer was embossed with the Sizzix folder Scallops and Lines. The red layer was embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder.

* The holly image is from Cricut's Joys of the Season cartridge and is cut at 2.5 inches.

* Sentiment mat is cut from Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. The sentiment is from the stamp set Scripted Year from Pink By Design.

* I added red Stickles to my holly berries and the red layer of my sentiment mat. A bit of ric rac and a couple of gems finish off my card.

I hope your weekend has been going well. I've stayed busy most of the weekend up in my craft corner working on projects and trying to get caught up...ha! Oh well...a girl can dream!

I did accomplish one major project this weekend for my post today over at Pink By Design. I made a sweet, sweet mini album for a very dear friend who is expecting a little girl in a few short months...

Let me show you how I put this sweet little album together...

1. The first step to creating a mini album is to decide on a base. You can make your own pages using chipboard or purchase a pre-made mini album. I usually buy my minis at Michael's right out of the dollar bin. They have a fabulous selection of shapes to choose from. Here's a sample of some albums I have picked up from Michael's and added to my stash...

(are these cute or what?)

2. After you decide on the shape of your album, it's time to cover your pages with cardstock. I like to use a paper stack so that all my page coordinate really well. Once you choose your paper, turn it over on the back, trace a page from your album and cut out...

3. Next it's time to glue your cardstock to the chipboard. I like to use Zip Dry glue for this. Give your glue a few minutes to dry then look at the edges of your page. I find that after cutting and gluing, I usually have a less than perfect fit. So, I use my sander to smooth out the edges and give a more finished look. After sanding, I ink up all the edges and punch the holes in my cardstock...

4. After you cover the pages of your album, it's time for the fun part...time to decorate the pages! For the cover of my book, I used the Cricut cartridge Sophisticated to cut out the flower and banner. The banner is cut at 2 inches and I added the letters to spell Audrey, then covered the entire banner with Glossy Accents. I wanted something a bit different for the center of my flower, so I used the stamp set Baby Love from Pink By Design to stamp the sentiment Welcome Baby onto a piece of white cardstock. Next, I used my new toy, the I Top to create a brad from my stamped image...

After assembling the flower, I sprayed the whole thing with spray adhesive and sprinkled on Martha Stewart's coarse glitter in Crystal. Before adhering the flower to the cover, I added a couple strips of green tulle to my flower...

For the next 2 pages, I used the Cricut cartridge New Arrival to cut out the stork (4 inches) and the baby (3 inches). The cute little baby face is from the stamp set Boy Mates Face Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps. I also used the April Showers cartridge to cut out a cloud at 4 inches. I ran the cloud through my Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls folder and inked it up using blue ink. The sentiment Made In Heaven is also from the PBD stamp set Baby Love...

I used the cartridge Baby Steps for the next pages. That cute little onesie is cut at 2 inches and the buttons are created from a Martha Stewart punch. After punching out the buttons, I covered them in Glossy Accents. The hat is layered onto a a mat created using the Spellbinders die Eyelet Circles. I also stamped the sentiment Cute As A Button from the Baby Love stamp set onto the mat...

The cute bathtub scene is created with the Cricut cartridge Baby Steps. The cuts are made at 4 inches and I covered all the bubbles with Diamond Stickles. The words stamped on the bubbles are from the stamp set Faith from Pink By Design. For this baby face, I used the stamp set Wide Eyed Kids from Peachy Keen Stamps. On the second page, I used the same duck, but cut it out at 5.5 inches. The sentiment Adorable is from the Baby Love stamp set...

For the back cover, I pulled out the cartridge New Arrival again and cut the moon out at 4.5 inches. I embossed the moon with embossing folder Polka Dots and added white flock to his hat. I used a Spellbinders die for a mat to stamp this adorable little sentiment from the Baby Love stamp set. For a final touch, I scattered a few punched stars and covered them with Diamond Stickles...

5. After decorating all your pages, it's time to assemble the book using the metal rings included with the album. Then, to add to the girly look, I cut strips of tulle in white, pink and green and tied them around the metal rings. And there you go!

You Color My World

Hey there! Welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner, I'm happy that you stopped by for a visit! I have a very simple card to share with you today. A simple card for a simply wonderful guy! I created this card with my sweet hubby in mind. I don't get all mushy very often....but...he is the reason that I have the time and resources to do the things that I love. He is also my biggest fan and I love him even more for that :0)

So...let's get on with this before the violins start tuning up! I wanted a simple image to show him how much he means to me and how much he adds to my life each and every day. Because of him, I am able to stay at home, create, be here for grandchildren, work with the kids at church and participate in things that are near and dear to my heart. So, I came across this fabulous sentiment that just pretty much sums it all up and the rest of the card just came together...

Recipe...
*Card base is made from Core'dinations cardstock, folded to created a 5 X 5 inch card.
* Layers are cut from textured cardstock by The Paper Studio and stitched together by machine.
* World - Circut's Going Places - cut at 4 inches. The bottom layer is cut out twice and adhered with pop dots for dimension. I used Versamark's watermark stamp pad on the top layer of the world and heat embossed it with Ranger's clear embossing powder to give it a glossy appearance.
* Before embossing my cut of the world, I stamped my sentiment using the Simply Everything stamp set from Pink By Design.

I think you can see the glossy finish a little better in this photo...

And there you...a simple card for my guy!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

I have a couple of things to share with you today....a cute birthday card and the winner of those fabulous stamps from Pink By Design! I would like to share my card with you first...

Our children's minster at my church, Jimmy, is a great guy. He is just the sweetest guy around and has a heart for teaching children about the love of God. The children love him because he always takes the time to really listen to them. Kids seem to have a 6th sense about people and they just know that Jimmy loves them and wants the best for each of them. And besides, how many grown men would dress up like this at Trunk or Treat.....

That's our Mr. Jimmy! So....along comes Mr. Jimmy's birthday and I just couldn't help myself...

Not an exact match...but at least I got the blonde hair and black mustache right!

Cowboy - Paper Doll Dress Up - cut at 5 inches

Face - Peachy Keen stamps - Boy Mates Faces

I used my hot glue gun to add the twine around the card.

Pink By Design UStream and Stamp Release

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.

Today I have a very girly layout to share with you and some information about the newest stamp release from Pink By Design.

Let me tell you about the new stamps first. Sarah will be sharing the newest stamps in her fabulous collection tonight! Not only will there be a stamp release, she also has a fun project for everyone to put together during the UStream. Doesn't that sound like fun? You will need to have your supplies ready once the UStream begins, so let me tell you what you will need....

* 2 Scalloped circle - any size, but not smaller than 2 inches

* Adhesive

* Several pieces of scrap ribbon (does not need to match)

That's it! I'm not sure what she has planned, but knowing Sarah, I'm sure it will be fun! So please make plans to join in on all the fun tonight (November 4) at 8:30 CST HERE.

Ok, now it's time for my super-girly layout. I've decided to put together an 8 X 8 scrapbook as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. She will be 7 in December and I think she is old enough to take of it and hopefully one day to treasure it. I want to do pages that let her know how very much she is loved and that while she is beautiful on the outside, she is even more so on the inside. Ok...enough or I'll be crying as I try to type this!

I used one of the new stamps to be released tonight by Pink By Design and I think it perfectly states one of the messages I want Emma to carry in her heart....

I love that she is looking at herself in the mirror in this photo. It just reinforces the message I want her to learn. Ok, on to the recipe for this layout:

*Paper - Ooh La La by The Paper Studio

* Photo frame - Sophisticated - cut at 6.5 inches and spritzed with Glimmer Mist in Silver

* Sentiment mat - Storybook - cut at 2.25 inches and spritzed with Glimmer Mist

* Corner - Storybook cut at 2 inches and spritzed with Glimmer Mist

* Rosette - I cut a strip of paper at 1.5 inches, scored and folded. To complete the look, I added some off white tulle and a lovely gem from Recollections.

* Pearls and gems from my embellishment stash

I really love the way the rosette turned out...

Hee..hee, bet I got your attention with that title didn't I?

Hey everybody and welcome to my new and improved crafting corner! I have a fun little card to share today. I created this card for this week's Challenge Me Monday that is going on over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is to create a project with a bird or something to do with a bird on it. It's been a while since I've joined in on a challenge and FCCB is one of my favorite challenge blogs, so I thought I would give it a try....

So...what did you think I had in mind with a title like Hoot-errific? To create this cute little guy I used the following:

* Papers - Hoot Hoot paper stack from The Paper Studio

* Frame for owl is from Art Philosophy - page 24 cut at 4.75 inches. I cut the bottom layer twice and added pop dots to raise the frame up from the card a bit. I ran the orange layer though my Cuttlebug using the Forrest Branches embossing folder then inked up the edges with Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge.

* Owl- Create A Critter cut at 3 inches.

* Branch - Create A Critter cut at 1.5 inches.

* Sentiment - I really don't know. This was an old stamp set that I've had for along time, no label on it anywhere, but it really did made me smile!

*Ribbon, twine, buttons and gems from my stash of craft goodies.

My New Look!

Hello everyone and welcome to the "New and Improved" Nonna's Craft Corner! I am so, so excited about my new look! So...what do you think? Do you love it? I do! I have been wanting to do this for awhile and knew that I would need a bit of help (ok, a lot of help). I looked around at other blogs and blog designers for a long time, but never found just what I was looking for. Until....I came across another blog that really caught my eye. I looked up the designer of that blog and I discovered...Chris from Get Inspired With Chatter Scene!

Let me tell you, after exchanging no more than 2 emails, I knew Chris understood what I was looking for and I was certain that she could put it all together. After a gazillion questions (from and to Chris....lol), Chris got busy and....nailed it! She has put together the blog of my dreams! And so quickly that I didn't even have time to create a special card for the launch! So this is a project-less post folks! I've just been itching to get on here and post something...so this is what you get for right now!

Ok, so take a minute or two and look at all the cute little details Chris added to my blog...did you notice the cute little bulletin board? Those are my cards on there. And on the desk? That's a picture from my blog of my 3 grandchildren...how cool is that? And finally...on the right....look....I have my very own button! Now, I've got to say, I'm as excited about that button as a kid with a new toy...I love it! So...if you should be on the lookout for a new button on your blog...ummmm....feel free!

And, if you are thinking about a little re-do or make-over for you own blog, do yourself a favor and check with Chris. You will not be disappointed...she's awesome and she has a fan for life in me! These cooler days have really inspired me to work on my fall cards and I have another one to share with you today. And guess what? I blew the dust off of my Imagine and fired her up to create today's card....

* Squirrel - Imagine Cartridge - Enjoy The Seasons - I cut the squirrel out in one piece and again in layers. Then I inked up the edges and used pop dots to adhere the pieces together.

*Sentiment mat - Spellbinders - Lacey Ovals and Classic Ovals

* Sentiment - Soon to be released (Nov 4) stamp set from Pink By Design

* Button and twine from my stash of crafting supplies

I distressed all the edges of my cardstock before inking them with Versafine ink in Vintage Sepia.

I hope your weekend has been going well. It's been a nice, stay at home weekend here and I have really enjoyed spending some time in my craft corner. Today is my turn to post on the Pink By Design blog and I would like to share my card here with you as well...

A few weeks ago, I created a bulletin board at my church using burlap as the background. Ever since that bulletin board, I have been thinking about adding burlap to a card. So, with fall just around the corner (at least I hope it makes it southeast Alabama soon), I though it might just be the perfect time to give it a try.

I really love the extra texture it added to this cute little fall card! I also used the following:

* Autumn Celebrations cartridge for the acorn and leaves

* Art Philosophy cartridge for the sentiment mat

* Bountiful Blessings stamp set from Pink By Design

* Natural Botanical paper stack from Paper Studio

* Distress Ink in Vintage Photo

I really like the way this fall card turned out and I soooo hope that fall makes an appearance in my little corner of the world very soon! Pink By Design SNEAK PEEK!

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world!

I'm happy that you could join me today because I have a little sneak peek to share with you!

The one one and only Sarah from Pink By Design has some fabulous new stamps that will be released on November 4th! The release will be aired on ustream at 8:30 CST...you won't want to miss it! And, I'm going to share one with you right now....

This was a fun card to make...I am so loving the Art Philosophy flowers and Course glitter!

Recipe:

* Papers - sei Black Orchid paper stack for the card and Coredinations for the flowers.

* I used the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Eleven for my card base. I used the largest die to cut the blue layer, folding it in half to create my card. The next size die was used on the printed paper. I cut it in half, using one half as a layer on my card and one half on the inside of my card.

* Flowers - Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. I used the flower found on page 69, cutting two at 4 inches and one flower at 4.5 inches. I inked up the edges using Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge Distress ink. Then I applied Glossy Accents to the flowers and sprinkled on some of Martha Stewart's course glitter.

* The sentiment mat is also from the Art Philosophy cartridge. This image is found on page 66 and is cut at 1.5 inches. I added Glossy Accents to the black layer and sprinkled on more of that fabulous course glitter.

* And...the sentiment....isn't that just a lovely thought! This whole set is just filled with wonderful, fun, inspiring thoughts. You are gonna love this one! Don't forget, you can see the complete set and all the other great new stamps on Friday, November 4th!

I have a sweet little card to share with you today. This was made with my granddaughter, Emma in mind...

* Cardstock - DCWV - The Sweet Shack

* White mat - Cricut's Something to Celebrate cartridge, cut at 5 inches.

* Lollipop - Something To Celebrate cartridge, cut at 4.5 inches. I inked up the edges using Ranger's Worn Lipstick and Memento's Pear Tart. I covered the lollipop in Glossy Accents and sprinkled on Martha Stewart's Course glitter in Crystal.

* Flower - Cricut's Sophisticated cartridge, cut at 2 inches. I inked up the edges and covered with Glossy Accents and more of the course glitter.

* Sentiment is from the Say It Sweet stamp set by Pink By Design. This is an exclusive stamp set available at the My Cricut Craft Room store.

* Bling and ribbon are from my stash of embellishments.

I think Emma is gonna love this super-sweet, glittery, fun card!

Ghostly Greetings

Good Monday Morning!

Welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner and another Challenge Me Monday.

Mondays are always fun over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog because every Monday comes with a fun new challenge. This week's challenge is called....

Spooky Time

and the challenge is to include a ghost somewhere on your project. Remember that you must also include at least one Cricut cut on your project!

I created my card for this week's challenge with my son in mind. Even though he is all grown up, I like to send him cards, especially on holidays and fun days like Halloween. And, even though he is all grown-up, I think he likes to receive a card from home every once in awhile! I kept this one very simple...no frills...no shiny bling...no frou-frou! Not easy for me.....

Definitely a no-frills sorta card!

*I used a Martha Stewart punch along each side of the orange patterned paper

* Black grosgrain ribbon along each side of orange patterned paper

* Sentiment is from Pink By Design stamp set Ghostly Greetings

* Black half pearls are from Recollections

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner!

It's Friday again and time for another Festive Friday over at My Cricut Craft Room. Festive Fridays are all about projects for the holiday...any holiday. It can be for Christmas, Halloween, Easter...any holiday at all. So, you never know what you might find on a Festive Friday!

With October being almost over, I am hard at work on my Christmas cards and gift tags. I love

Christmas and I love sending Christmas cards to people I love. However, I do NOT love creating the same card in multiples....I just get bored too easily I guess. So, everyone on my list gets an original card. This works out pretty nice for me because I get to try out all sorts of styles and layouts! For this card, I thought I would try my hand at a card using some non-traditional Christmas colors....

To be honest, I wasn't very fond of this color scheme at first, but it's beginning to grow on me!

Recipe:

* Patterned paper - My Mind's Eye Wonderful Winter paper stack

* Solid paper - Paper Studio

* Green & ivory mat - Art Philosophy cartridge found on page 31 - cut at 3.5 inches

* Christmas ornament - Art Philosophy cartridge. Image found on page 33 - cut at 2.75 inches. I covered the red layer in Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Martha Stewart's glitter in Garnet.

* Sentiment mat - hand cut and stamped using the Pink By Design stamp set Old Time Christmas.

* Striped banners - Art Philosophy - cut at 1.75 inches.

* Brown gems are from Close To My Heart

* Brown, ruffled ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the tiny ivory ribbon is from my ribbon stash.

I may not be sure about the colors of this card, but I do love that sparkle!

One More Halloween Journal

Hello everyone and welcome! Can you stand just one more Halloween journal?

Remember those cute little journals I made from notebooks I found at Target for a dime? If you missed that post, you can see it HERE. Anyway, shortly after sending them home with the kids, Emma's journal sort of had a "mishap". Thinking it may have had a bit of sibling rivalry involved...hmmm...if you know what I mean! So, I got a phone call from Miss Emma, and yes there were tears...asking me to please make her another journal. And....could this journal maybe have a witch on it?.....and could that witch maybe be on a broom? So...what's a Nonna to do? Back upstairs to my corner to make yet another Halloween journal. Special order, no less.....

Emma's new, improved, custom journal....

*I used the witch from Happy Hauntings cut at 5.25 inches.

*I placed her on a moon that I cut out and inked up with black ink then covered with lots and lots of course glitter from Martha Stewart.

*I blinged up her hat with black glitter and her dress with a few orange gems.

*Letters for Emma's name are from Kate's ABCs cut at 1.5 inches, inked up and glittered.

I'll be seeing Emma after school today and I hope this journal lives up to the one she has created in her head! I also hope this one survives more than one or two days!

Halloween Treats!

Festive Friday!

Hello everyone and welcome! I sure hope you are having a Festive Friday!

As you may already know, I am one of the designers over at My Cricut Craft Room and I love posting on Fridays. Festive Friday is all about creating something with a holiday or party in mind...you know..something to celebrate! Posting on Fridays has really helped get me moving on my Christmas cards and tags for this year.

I love pretty packages at Christmas. I love the gorgeous wrapping paper that is available and I love making big, loopy bows from wide ribbon and tulle. I also love being able to finish up my wrapped gift with a special tag that adds just a bit more sparkle and shine. Today I would like to share with you two new tags to add to my gift wrap selection this year...

I started with plain Manila tags and covered them with cute cardstock from K&Company's Secret Santa paper stack. I found the white "fur" in the Christmas scrapping section at Hobby Lobby. I think it adds a nice touch, but it is really, really messy! Bits of fluff are still floating around my craft corner!

The Christmas tree is from Winter Frolic and is cut at 4.5 inches. I inked up the edges and used pink gems for ornaments. The star is covered in Tinsel glitter from Martha Stewart.

The stocking is cut from Doodlecharms at 3 inches. The red portion is embossed with the Candy Cane embossing folder and the white parts are covered in Tinsel glitter by Martha Stewart. The mat was created using Spellbinders' Lacy Ovals (green layer) and Classic Ovals (white layer) dies. The sentiment is from the Christmas Wishes stamp set by Pink By Design.

Challenge Me Monday...

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and for those of you who also have today off...enjoy!

It's time for another Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and we have a fun challenge for this week....

Decor And More!

* Remember that your project must have at least one Cricut cut on it somewhere!

I have been working on a lot of Halloween and Christmas projects over the last few weeks, so I thought it was about time try my hand at a Thanksgiving project. I used Cricut's Celebrate With Flourish for all the cuts on today's projects...

For my project, I started with 6 X 6 canvas squares that I picked up at Michael's. I painted each square with Delta's Red Iron Oxide...

Next, I cut 2 layers for each canvas. The dark brown layer of cardstock is cut at 5.5 X 5.5 inches and the printed olive green cardstock is cut at 5.25 X 5.25 inches. I inked up the edges of each layer using Versafine's Vintage Sepia ink and adhered the layers together using glue only in the center because my next step is to use my sewing machine for a zig-zag stitch....

After stitching all around the layers, it's time for some ribbon. I knew I wanted to use some Crinkle ribbon, but I wanted a different look. So, back to my machine to add a gathering stitch down the length of my ribbon. After stitching, gently pull the thread to gather your ribbon...

I used 3 different Spellbinders die cuts for the sentiment mats (details to follow) and the sentiments are all from the Bountiful Blessing stamp set from Pink byDesign. After adjusting my ribbon and sentiment mats, I adhered the cardstock layers to each canvas piece. I used Zip Dry glue for this step. Next, I cut, layered and added my images. I will have the measurements for you under each individual photo...

Pilgrim Hat

* The hat is cut at 4. 75 inches. I used Glossy Accents on the flourishes and on the buckle.

* I cut extra leaves at various sizes (2 -3.5 inches) and embossed them with Forrest Branches.

* The mat for this canvas was cut with Spellbinders' Ribbon Tag Trio.

Turkey

* The turkey is cut at 4.5 inches. I added Glossy Accents to the flourishes.

* This sentiment mat is from the Spellbinders die Lacy Ovals.

* I tucked a couple of leaves under the mat and in the bottom corner.

Cornucopia

* The cornucopia is cut at 2.75 inches. I added Glossy Accents to the flourishes and to the pumpkin.

* The sentiment mat is from Spellbinders' Grommet Tags. I added a couple of brown gems to either side of the sentiment and tucked a few leaves around the sides of the mat.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning!

I hope you are having a wonderful day! It's Sunday and time for Card Creating Sundays over at My Cricut Craft Room. I'm really happy that you stopped by for a visit today because I have a really sweet birthday card to share with you.

I used the new Cricut Circle Cartridge Sophie for my card today. This cart is loaded with some beautiful images. I haven't been too crazy about most of the Circle cartridges, but I LOVE this one!

Recipe:

* These gorgeous patterned papers are from the Flea Market paper stack by Colorbox. I love those blues and browns...so pretty!

* Solids are from Coredinations and Bazzill.

* I ran a strip of tape across the top of my striped mat and gathered a piece of cream ribbon.

* The lovely oval mat was created with the Spellbinders die Lacy Ovals and Classic Ovals. I cut 2 layers of the green cardstock and used pop dots to adhere them together, lifting my image off the card a bit. I also inked up the edge of the cream colored oval with brown ink and added a few gems from Close To My Heart.

* The Cricut cartridge Sophie was used for that beautiful bird and birdcage. I cut the image out at 3. 5 inches. Before gluing the bird onto the image, I sprayed the birdcage with Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold for a bit of shimmer. After the Glimmer Mist was dry, I added the bird using pop dots.

* The mat for my sentiment is cut from Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. I used the label found on page 56 and cut it at 1 inch. Again, I cut the bottom layer out twice and used pop dots to add some dimension and lift.

* The birthday sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set Crikey. I added a couple more of those fabulous gems to either side of my sentiment.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

I have a fun project to share with you today....and...the winner of my Halloween treats from the Pink By Design Halloween Blog Hop!

Ok...you know I'm gonna do the project first, so just bear with me (no scrolling to the bottom)!

Do you know one of those people who just always seems to have something nice or something kind to say? Someone who just puts you in a better mood after chatting? Someone who goes out of their way to do something nice? If you know the kind of friend I'm talking about...you are blessed! I have one of those friends and I do feel blessed each time I speak with her. Anyway, I wanted to make a special little card to let her know that I think she is an amazing person....

I love how "girly" this card turned out!

Recipe:

* I created my card base using the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities die Grand Scalloped Squares on white cardstock.

* Using the same die, I cut 4 more squares using this gorgeous paper from Paper Studio. This is from the Ooh La La paper stack....I LOVE it!

* I inked up all the edges using Ranger's Worn Lipstick and adhered the layers together, having the width of one scallop showing and trimming off the excess at the top.

* That fabulous ribbon was sent to me from my dear friend Eva and is from Tim Holtz.

* The flower (oh how I love this flower!) is from Flower Shoppe. I just received this cart and could not wait to give it a try! I have to admit, the first two flowers I worked on didn't make the cut! But, I'm thinking...3rd times the charm cause I love this one! I used the example on page 12 of the handbook and cut all the layers at 3 inches, inked up the edges and added a gem to the center.

* Sentiment - Enjoy The Journey from Pink By Design.

So...I was pretty happy with the card, but wanted a little something extra. Remember those 66 extra composition notebooks that I just happen to have on hand? Well...I pulled one of those out....

You know, we all need a place to record our special thoughts and dreams. I think this little book will do the job nicely!

* Same die cut, same papers, same ink.

* That dreamy sentiment is from the Sophisticated Cricut cartridge and is cut at 1.5 inches.

* More of that gorgeous ribbon and a bit of bling really added to the "girly" look.

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was a busy one around here, I played along with 2 Blog Hops this weekend. So...it was a hopping weekend...literally!

On Saturday, I was part of the Pink By Design Halloween Blog Hop. There were some fabulous prizes up for grabs at this hop and there may still be time to get in on a chance to win. I have a fun give away on my post and you have until tomorrow night to enter. You can see that post HERE.

Yesterday was the second day of the 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop by My Cricut Craft Room. There were lots of great projects and some fun give aways on this hop also. You can see my post for this hop Here.

And...as if that weren't enough....Sunday was also my day to post on the Pink By Design blog! (Did I mention that it was a busy weekend?) Because of the hops, I didn't post my project for PBD here on Sunday, but today I would like to share it with you....

A few weeks ago, I had all three grands here at the same time and thought it would be nice to have a picture of them in matching outfits. Let me just say...getting three kids ages 1 month, 2 years and 6 years to be still long enough for decent photo is not for the faint of heart! I think I took about 50 photos in 2 minutes time (thank goodness for digital) and just hoped for the best!

After choosing the "best" photo out of that batch, I got busy in my craft room! For this project I used the following items:

* 8 X 10 Canvas

* Licorice acrylic paint from Folk Art

* Black distressed frame (from Michael's)

* Papers from DCWV's Ghost & Goblins paper stack

* Cricut's Art Philosophy

* Martha Stewart glitter in Black Licorice

My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Ok, let's get started! On the first weekend of each month, the Design Team at My Cricut Craft Room works together to put together projects using at least 100 Cricut cartridges! We have grown so large that we divided the hop over Saturday and Sunday. So if you missed Saturday's projects, stop by Erica's and scroll down to Saturday's post.

I have a couple of projects to share with you today. The first is a layout of my sweet, new grandson, Brayden. Brayden was born on August 29th and I'm trying to get his scrapbook up and running...

Recipe:

* Printed cardstock from My Mind's Eye layered onto solid red cardstock.

* I used the Cricut cartridge Pop Up Neighborhood for that cute little airplane. The plane is found on page 70 of the handbook and is cut at 4 inches. I added Glossy Accents to the wheels and propeller of the plane for some shine and used my white gel pen for a few accents.

* I used the Dimensional Elements chipboard banner cut outs from Close To My Heart and covered them with my polka dot cardstock. The letters are cut from Nate's ABCs (Font 2) at .75 inches. I linked my banner pieces together using some red and white twine.

* Sentiment - Big Thoughts stamp set from Pink By Design stamped onto a tag I created using the Nestabilities die Grommet Tags and a couple of red brads.

* I also added some Liquid Pearls in Ruby Red to my photo mats.

Ok, I have one more quick project to share with you today. I have a very dear friend who is expecting her second little girl in the next few months. I wanted to make a special card for her to celebrate the newest blessing in her life...

Recipe:

* Printed cardstock is from DCWV's paper stack Nana's Nursery.

* I created a mat using the Nestabilities die Eyelet Circles. As you can see, I used lots of Liquid Pearls in Petal Pink to go all the way around the mat.

* The baby carriage is from Cricut's Wrap It Up cartridge and is found on page 23 of the handbook. The carriage is cut at 3.5 inches.

* I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the scalloped border and that fabulous white ribbon that looks like roses is from Tim Holtz. A very special thank you to my sweet friend Eva who sent me this pretty, pretty ribbon!

* Sentiment - Pink By Designs stamp set Baby Love. I added a drop of Liquid Pearls in White Opal on either side of my sentiment.

Pink By Design Halloween Blog Hop!

I'm really excited that you are here today for our fun Pink By Design Halloween Blog Hop!

If you came here from Jenny at Crazy About Cricut, you are in the right place! If you just happened across my blog and would like to start at the beginning of our hop, just head over to Sarah's place, better know as the one and only..... Pink Cricut.

Ok...time to get started! I have a quick, fun, inexpensive Halloween project that you can share with some of the special little goblins in your life! I stopped by Target a few days ago and found these great composition notebooks that everyone is altering these days. These were in the back to school clearance section marked down to 10 cents each! At the time I really didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew something would hit me sooner or later...so....I bought 70 of them!

I decided to use a few of these notebooks to create a fun treat for a few special goblins in my life, my granddaughter Emma and her new step sister and brothers. I had lots of fun working on the girly version and this is what I came up with...

Recipe...

*The papers are all left over bits and pieces from last year's Halloween paper stacks.

* The purple down the side is a fabulous purple Duck Tape that I bought at Michael's...cool huh?

* The witches boot is cut from Cricut's Happy Hauntings at 6.25 inches. I used Martha Stewart's Orange Sorbet glitter to add some bling and an EK spider web punch for the border.

* The witches hat is from Mini Monsters and is cut at 7 inches. On this one I used Martha Stewart glitter in Orange Sorbet, Sugar Plum and Limeade.

* Those cute little bats are 3D stickers made by Colorbox.

* The sentiments Best Witches and BOO are from the A Haunting We Will Go stamp set from Pink By Design.

And here are the notebooks I made for the guys...

Recipe:

* I used black Duck Tape for the boy version of these notebooks.

* The vampire is cut from Cricut's Mini Monsters cartridge at 6 inches. Those fabulous eyes are brads made by Spare Parts. I used Glossy Accents on his hair and shoes for some shine and a white gel pen for some stitching lines. I also added a strip of spider web border along the side.

* Frankie is also from the Mini Monsters cartridge and he is cut at 6.5 inches. Frankie got a set of those cool eyes and the Glossy Accents treatment in his hair and on his shoes. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border running along the side and lots of white gel pen work!

* The sentiments Have A Spook-tackular Day and Franken-tastic are both from the A Haunting We Will Go stamp set available from Pink By Design.

I think these turned out so, so cute and I can't wait to give them to the kids!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

This has been one of "those weeks"...it's peanut picking season in my little corner of Southeast Alabama and it does a number on my allergies every year! So this week has been dedicated more to a stuffy nose, red, watery eyes and mind-numbing headaches than anything crafty. We had a nice rain a couple of days ago and I think maybe it has settled the peanut dust down for a day or two, so I'm feeling a bit better and thought I would get a card for my Birthday stash completed...

I finally got a chance to use my new Sophie cartridge! It has some beautiful images! This card was created using the image on page 28 and is cut at 4.5 inches.

* I first cut the image out of kraft paper and again out of my designer paper - Flea Market by Colorbox. I layered the designer paper onto the kraft paper to make it more durable.

* All the edges are inked up with Ranger's Victorian Velvet ink.

* I covered the butterfly and outer frame with Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Martha Stewart's Tinsel glitter in Crystal.

* The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set Kitchen Puns. This was stamped in Vintage Sepia ink from Versafine and heat embossed with Polysparkle embossing powder by Ranger.

* The pearls are from Recollections.

* Brown Crinkle Ribbon is from Pink By Design.

Leaves Are Falling

Hi there! Welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner and another Challenge Me Monday!

Yep, it's Monday...again! But that's not all bad because with Monday comes another exciting Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

This week's challenge is called Leaves Are Falling and this challenge is just what it sounds like: make a project with leaves on it! Remember that your project must have at least one Cricut cut on it!

I am so excited about the arrival of fall, even if it hasn't made it's way to my little corner of Alabama just yet. It was fun to work on a fallish card and think that it will soon be here....

Recipe:

* Papers - DCWV Autumn Splendor paper stack (patterned paper) - solids were scraps from my paper stash. All edges are distressed and inked with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink.

* Leaves - these were created using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and the CTMH Harvest Happiness stamp set.

* Twine and button are from my stash of crafting goodies.

* Sentiment - Bountiful Blessings stamp set from Pink By Design.

To create the leaves, I cut out the leaf image on page 34 of the AP handbook. These were cut at 2 inches each. The bottom layer is cut from off-white cardstock and the top layer is cut from the brown I used on my card. Using my stamp from CTMH, I dabbed on ink from Ranger in the following colors, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed and Rusty Hinge. I stamped the image onto the cut out leaves then adhered the brown layer. I really like the effect I achieved by mixing up my inks!

Holiday Cheer

Hello everyone! Welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.

Today is Friday and it's time for another Festive Friday over at My Cricut Craft Room. I love creating something for Festive Fridays because it gives me the motivation to get moving on my Christmas projects! With the holiday season just around the corner, I need all the help I can get! So, today I have a cute little Christmas card to share with you....

Recipe:

* Card Base - created using white cardstock and the Grand Nestabilities die Grand Scalloped Circles. I inked up the edges in Barn Door ink by Ranger.

* I used a smaller die from the same set to cut out two pieces of coordinating patterned paper from the Countdown to Christmas paper stack by My Mind's Eye. I cut one piece in half and layered it on top of the other, then adhered a piece of green ric rac over the edges.

* Sentiment mat - created using Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. I used the mat found on page 31 at 3.5 inches. The red portion was covered in Garnet glitter from Martha Stewart.

* Coffee Cup - Cricut's Winter Frolic cartridge cut at 3 inches. I used Glossy Accents on the coffee portion and Stickles on the steam.

* Sentiment - Christmas Wishes available at Pink By Design.

* I finished up my card with a couple of gems and some green tulle from my crafting stash.

Ok...let's get started! I've had a lot of fun working on my Girly project over the last few days...

These cute little purses are going to be Christmas gifts for my granddaughter and her new step-sister. I started out with plain, unfinished wooden boxes in the shape of a purse that I found at Michael's...

I spray painted the boxes with black paint first. Next I traced the shape of each purse onto this fun, Girly patterned paper from the Femme Fatale paper stack by Recollections (great name for a paper stack, huh?). I trimmed off about a quarter inch all around the lines I traced and distressed the edges of my paper. Next, I inked up the edges with black ink hoping to give the paper a worn fabric look. I glued on the front and back pieces to each purse and used my white gel pen to add stitching lines around all the edges.

Ok...for some of the details...

*For each purse I created a "pocket". I just sort of came up with a shape and embossed it with the Textile Texture embossing folder. I also added some stitching lines with my white gel pen and that fun rhinestone brad in the center.

* I also ran a strip of tape along the back, top edge of each "pocket" and gathered up my ribbon as I adhered it to the pocket. This gave a nice ruffle effect.

* Using the Paisley Cricut cartridge, I cut sunglasses at 1.5 inches and covered them with Martha Stewart's Sterling glitter. I also added Glossy Accents to the lens.

* The cute little tag is cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I used the image found on page 50 and cut this tag at 3 inches. The sentiment is from the Enjoy The Journey stamp set from Pink By Design. I stamped this is Silver ink and used Stardust embossing powder by Stampendous.

* I added a few clear gems to the handles for a bit more glitz!

Using the Songbird cartridge, I added the girls' monograms to the back of each purse. This is Emma's....

And this is Joanna's....

And of course, I finished out the inside of each purse...and...added a few goodies....

I used stamps from the Shopaholic and Enjoy The Journey stamp sets from Pink By Design for my tags. To create the tags, I just free-handed a few shapes then stamped and heat embossed them. A few stitching lines and fabulous ribbon finish up the tags.

And that finishes up my Girly project for you today! I really had fun with this project and can't wait to see the girls when they open up these gifts! ...I'd Pick You! Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!

It's Sunday and my turn to post on the Pink By Design blog today! I've got a fun fall card to share with you today using the great stamp set Bountiful Blessings from PBD....

Recipe:

* Patterned paper - DCWV paper stack Autumn Splendor

* Tree - Cricut's Heritage cut at 5.5 inches and embossed with the Distressed Stripes embossing folder. Edges and embossed areas are inked with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy.

* Fence - Ciruct's Happy Hauntings cut at 3inches and embossed with the Forrest Branches embossing folder. Inked with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy.

* Pumpkins - Cricut's Pumpkin Carvings cartridge at 1.5 inches. Embossed with the Divine Swirls embossing folder and inked up with Ranger's Orange Marmalade ink.

Sentiment - Pink By Design's Bountiful Blessings stamp set. This was stamped onto a banner cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 2.5 inches.

I finished up the inside of my card using one more pumpkin hidden in grass created by a Martha Stewart punch...
